The signs of his coming will continue right up to the moment Jesus returns. The sun will be darkened as smoke fills the skies, and the moon shall be turned into blood, and the stars will fall from heaven. False prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, even deceiving some on the Saints.
Desolating plagues and diseases will sweep across the earth in the same way the bubonic plague ravaged Europe and Asia in the Middle Ages, leaving stacks of innumerable corpses to rot in the open air, and filling the earth with their stench. People will shout curses at God and die.
Amid all this chaos, commotion, and distress will be heard the voices of the vexing words of Mormon missionaries going throughout the lands, preaching a doctrine the unbelievers find strange, and warning the people of the world to repent and receive the gospel so that they are not destroyed when Jesus arrives in his glory.
War will increase until it is all that is spoken of in newspapers, radio, and television. The wicked will kill the wicked in battles of great destructive force. Any who will not take up his sword against his neighbor will have to flee to Zion, the only place of safety. And so all the righteous from all the nations will come to Zion, singing songs of everlasting joy.
