The Second Coming of Jesus Christ is a matter so important to God that it is mentioned more than 300 times in the New Testament, and over 1,500 times in the Old Testament. We are living in the last days before the Savior's return in glory. Some of the signs that precede his coming have already occurred, including the discovery and colonization of America and the coming forth of the Book of Mormon.
Other signs being fulfilled are more terrifying and dreadful. Wickedness is everywhere and nations are constantly at war with one another. Devastating earthquakes, storms, droughts, and diseases are occurring as well. These calamities will increase and become more severe before Jesus returns to Earth.

The people of the world are increasingly divided between two camps. While the faithful members of the Church are drawing closer to Jesus, the wicked and rebellious are sinking to ever lower levels of evil and depravity. This polarizing trend will continue in the run-up to Jesus's return and there will be fewer and fewer people who are not firmly in one camp or the other.
Babylon is the symbol of all that is ungodly and wicked in our world. It is the Mafia and organized crime syndicates that murder, rob, and steal. It is the promoters of pornography and prostitution. It is the communist system that seeks to destroy people's freedoms. It is the false and degenerate religions of all forms and branches. And it is the almighty governmental power that puts the Saints of God in prison.
Before Jesus returns, during this time of great wickedness, the Saints will build the righteous city of Zion in Jackson County, Missouri. This New Jerusalem in America will be a place of peace and safety for the Saints. It will be the most beautiful place on Earth, and all the kings and princes of the world will come to it seeking wisdom.
Before Jesus can return, the Jews must also rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and the Temple of God that was destroyed nearly 2,000 years ago. The temple is needed so that the animal sacrifice rituals commanded in the books of Moses can be resumed as they were conducted in ancient times.
